thaare zameen par-movie review(moviez world)

THAARE ZAMEEN PAR

tzp.jpg Aamir Khan is always known as the perfectionist, and all his films tend to create hype and lots of expectations. And luckily, all his recent films have met all the expectations. But then he chose to make a movie on the story of a dyslexic kid. Of course, again it was again bound to create hype and expectations. But this time, I had a fear that the film will not meet the expectations and will not succeed commercially. But I was 100% wrong, no, 500%!! The film gives the viewer more than expected and it is made in such a way that it is liked by each and every section of moviegoers. In short, Taare Zameen Par is a masterpiece-it’s a film which rarely comes in a lifetime and touches and moves you completely!

The story of the movie: Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary), an 8 year old child, is different from all the other kids of his age. He is busy looking at dogs, fishes, colourful things etc and painting while the world around him is busy buried in their own work. He had failed in Std 3 and there was no improvement in him. His family consisted of his mother Maya (Tisca Chopra), Nandkishor (Vipin Sharma) and Yohaan (Sachet Engineer) who are all fed up of him. After repeated complaints, Ishaan’s father decided to admit him in a boarding school so that he’ll learn discipline there and become a studious and obedient boy. Ishaan refused to go and pleaded but his pleas fell on deaf ears. Finally, he was admitted. There his life remain unchanged and plus, he had to bear the trauma of separation from his family. Slowly, he became an introvert and stopped talking as no one understood him. One day, a new art teacher came to their school, Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan). An enjoyable and cheerful man, he was not like the rest of the ‘disciplined’ types teacher. He loved and taught his students to enjoy life and to bring out their emotions by painting. He spotted the sad, scared and lonely Ishaan and decided to help him.

Taare Zameen Par will shock you as it leaves a deep impact on our minds and our hearts. It’s a rare film which entertains you as well as enlightens you. And plus, it introduces Aamir Khan, the director! Aamir as the director does a wonderful job. He has come out with something which big experienced directors have failed. Hats off, Aamir!!

Taare Zameen Par gives a strong message which can be easily decoded and understood, to all the kids, parents and to-be-parents. Nowadays, the world is competitive. Everyone wants their children to reach the highest post and if one of these children in the race is unable to do it, he is treated as if he has committed a crime. Taare Zameen Par comes at a right time and it explains everyone that “EVERY CHILD IS SPECIAL”!

It will be shocking to know that Aamir enters the story at the intermission point-the portions before are effectively handled by the child superstar-Darsheel Safary! The child is an excellent actor-he had gone completely into the skin of his character and doesn’t let the viewer’s attention to be diverted or distracted.

The entry of Aamir Khan makes you happy and joyful! His entry makes you as happy as a tired, thirsty, lost traveler is after finding an oasis in a desert! And the beautiful role that he plays in the movie, one feels like shaking his hand, giving a pat on his back and hugging him!

In the movie, all scenes are important. There is not a single unnecessary scene in the movie. The scenes in the first half nicely show the various emotions and difficulties faced by a dyslexic child in his everyday life. The post-interval portions were equally good. The best part is the climax-it will surely give you a lump in your throat!

Along with Aamir Khan and Darsheel Safary, two other people which have helped make this movie completely successful are Creative Director Amole Gupte and Deepa Bhatia who gave the concept and did all the research. These two immensely contributed to the success of the film. Great work!

Now for the performances. As said earlier, Darsheel Safary was just amazing. You laugh when he laughs or does some prank and you feel sad when he cries or is lonely. It’s surprising that a child, who knew didn’t knew much about acting, does such a fine job! No other child artist would have been able to handle the role so flawlessly. Words are not enough to describe him! Marvelous!

Aamir Khan was as usual in full form. Give him any role and he would play it wonderfully without any effort. His character was beautiful and that’s why he is more likeable! I hope we can see this great actor of Bollywood as more as possible!

Tisca Chopra played the role of the mother wonderfully! She looked every inch a mother of two and middle class housewife. She has not been much famous in Bollywood, but now she’ll surely be! Vipin Sharma was perfect in the role of a strict father.

Tanay Cheda, as the handicapped friend of Ishaan, was good. Sachet Engineer played his part perfectly. Aamir’s female friend in the movie was okay. The gentleman who played the role of Hindi teacher was funny!

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music is another reason which makes the movie successful. The trio proves that they can compose music even in such hatke movies! Each song was quite different and unique! The best were the title tack, Mera Jahan, Maa, Kholo Kholo, Bum Bum Bole and Bheja Kum. Prasoon Joshi’s lyrics deserve special mention. The lyrics writer has wonderfully penned the words, which are magical!

Setu’s cinematography was brilliant! Setu succeeds in taking each detail amazingly!

Aamir Khan’s direction was mind-blowing! He has done a terrific job and proves that alongwith being a successful actor and producer; he is also a wonderful director, and a great storyteller! It will be great if he directs more movies!

Since each scene in the movie is the best, here are the scenes which will linger in your memory for a long time:
1. The first scene in the movie-Ishaan seeing the fish in a dirty pond
2. Ishaan with the dogs-beautiful scene!
3. Ishaan showing truant behaviour by running away from school
4. Ishaan solving the ‘3×9’ sum!
5. Ishaan’s family decision to admit him to boarding school
6. Ishaan’s initial traumatic experience at the boarding school
7. Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir) entry and the song ‘Bum Bum Bole’!!
8. Ishaan and Ram Shankar’s first two meetings
9. Ram Shankar giving examples of dyslexics who later became great personalities (why did he forget to name Tom Cruise?)
10. Ram Shankar’s meeting with Ishaan’s parents
11. Ram Shankar giving the example of Solomon Islands!
12. The last 20 mins
13. All songs of the movie

On the whole, Taare Zameen Par is as wonderful as a gem! It’s a true masterpiece. It is a rare film which entertains as well as enlightens. It’s the most outstanding work to have come out of Bollywood in recent times. You miss this movie, and you are committing the biggest mistake of your life!!

My rating- ***** out of 5!!

bajaj small car(carz world)

The Bajaj small car cost is just Rs 1 lakh!

The country's second largest bike maker Bajaj Auto Ltd on Tuesday cocked a snook at those who sniggered at its efforts to get into the passenger car market.

The company silently unveiled its 'Lite' concept car in New Delhi, two days before the much hyped launch of Tata Motors' Rs 1 lakh car.

Bajaj Auto, the country's second biggest two-wheeler maker, said it plans to bring out its small car in collaboration with Renault and Nissan within four years but it will not be for Rs 1 lakh (Rs 100,000).

"I know Carlos Ghosn (President and CEO of Renault and Nissan) has set a target of 2010 for Bajaj-Renault car. While it is hard to put any time-frame, we can say in two-four years we can expect to have the product ready," Bajaj Auto managing director Rajiv Bajaj told reporters in New Delhi.

Bajaj declined to give a specific price of the small car. Ghosn has earlier stated that Renault was looking for a $3,000 car in India, a move triggered by Tata Motors' Rs 1 lakh car that will be unveiled later this week.

At present, it is manufacturing close to 30,000 two-wheelers every month – mainly a model called Xpression since April 2007 and a second brand Xpression Plus, since then. “A range of bicycles, from another group subsidiary, is also on the anvil,” said Ghosh, The Chairman and Managing Director, Xenitis Group. d "Skeleton bike" (bikz world)

so,,howz dis "SKELETON BIKE"

Sunday, December 16, 2007

1) TVS Flame 125cc: Much expected TVS flame is finally here. First the deciding factor for any indian bike - the price It is available in two variants with and without disc brake Flame demands Rs45000(ex-showroom, chennai). With disc it demands Rs3000 more.

tvs-flame-side-view.jpg

2) TVS Flame 125cc: Resembles the fighter jet in many sense, starting with the sharp nose and larger tank shrouds with embedded indicators both sides. Paint quality is top notch and especially the flamboyant graphics scores full point. Contemporary black theme and Mag alloy wheels with stylish fenders adds charm to the flame.

tvs-flame-mag-alloys.jpg

3) TVS Flame 125cc :Dual lens projected tail lamps and delta shaped exhaust mouth (which is easily the best among indian bikes) gives a fillip to the delta edge design. The only sore point is where suspension meets the cowl(seems like stitched in).

tvs-flame-rear-view.jpg

3) TVS Flame 125cc: CCVTi engine which uses three valves and twin spark plugs produces maximum power of 10.5bhp at 8250rpm and a peak torque of 10Nm at 6250 rpm. CCVTi beats pleasant and power delivery is progressive. Similar to other 125cc bikes it consumes a litre of petrol to go 63kms in our test drive. Expect the mileage/fuel efficiency anything above 60kms. Watch the video Feel the flame’s CCVTi engine right now(video soon)

tvs-flame-ccvti-engine-125cc.jpg

4) TVS Flame 125cc: Build on a rectangular frame, flame handles tight corners easily. But the massive feel (credit to muscular fuel tank) and the 1320mm wheelbase hinders the tendency to flick. Unlike the apache, Flame’s ride is supple. Straight handle bar and upright seating position ensures ache free commuting. Large knee recess (credit to the tank shrouds) makes even the tall riders comfortable with the flame. Seats are wider and merges with the tank(similar to what we seen in pulsar 200cc) smoothly. The proven rectangular swing arm with 5-step adjustable twin tube suspension transfers little vibration to the rider as well as the pillion.

tvs-flame-city-drive.jpg

5) TVS Flame 125cc: Hosts a number of gauges but made usable by embedding odometer, digital clock, fuel gauge, mileage meter in the digital console. Large analogue speedo is bound by a number of warning lamps.

tvs-flame-digital-console.jpg

6) TVS Flame 125cc: Storage area on top of the tank is a welcome feature. But the storage bay limits the tank capacity to just 8 litres. Another issue with the storage bay it flip before loading the coke.Chisel shaped pilot lamps sits on the top of the low mounted headlamp are quite useful.

tvs-flame-storage-bay.jpgtvs-flame-pilot-lamps.jpgtvs-flame-exhaust-mouth.jpg

7) TVS Flame 125cc: TVS would be selling about 200 units of Flame in Tamil Nadu December, with a target of 20,000 units per month once the all India launch happens in January 2008. Ultimately the question is, can TVS Flame score against Bajaj XCD. Let’s wait! till we check out.

8) TVS Flame 125cc: No analysis please! this one is for everyone’s heart.
